What are the common safety rules for flying drones?

Fly below 400 feet: Drones should generally be flown below 400 feet above ground level to avoid collisions with other aircraft.
Keep your drone in sight: Always keep your drone within your line of sight, or within the visual line-of-sight of a visual observer who is co-located (physically next to) and in direct communication with you.
